Mashed08
I always promise ill keep this upto date and I never do :-P. Just been to Mashed08 the renamed Hack day and as expected it was awesome. Our main project ideas disappeared early on so my team split up to do our own mini projects. I made EtherNoise a tool to turn 2.4ghz amplitude information and make it into rather more pleasant music than I was expecting (binary available in the download section, the source and other details will follow soon). We also had another play with Nwsr24. Nwsr25 includes my new and improved second gen context engine, Steves OCR enhancements and most importantly a new subtitle to lolspeak converter!. I also teamed up with Anthony from BBC Scotland to assist him with some SQL on weighted tag association for his rather funky flash based iplayer search and tag cloud project.
So all in all a very very productive weekend, anyway im off to relax now, thanks to the BBC for all their effort and hard work, ill definatly be back next year.
Last Blog of the Year
Well in trying to keep up with my aim of at least one entry a month I figured I should post this, the last entry for 2007, its been an interesting year with many ups and downs, but thankfully more Ups. Christmas was brilliant, and things are looking hopeful going into the New Year. As promised a few months ago I said id review the 3G dongle, and its been brilliant, having the net anywhere is so convenient and with the merger of 3 and t-mobile coverage will be even greater. I am currently completely rewriting the photos section so it may be up and down while im making changes but it should be worth it as the new one will be much quicker and use a lot less bandwidth than the MagicMoose one.
Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous new year.
Chown -R US ./base, VGL Rocks!!!
Hello all,Video Games Live rocks!, went to see VGL the other week and all I can say is wow, what an experience, the referb at the festival hall is brilliant, and the orchestra where amazing, the VGL pianist has a shining career ahead of him. Who would have thought video game themes played with a symphony orchestra would have been so mind blowing? my initial scepticism has been erased. Anyone who gets the chance should go!
3G Curvey Edges!
Well not quite but they sound cool don't they. Really a mixture of both I suppose, I have now after a number of minor hiccups, grrrr, moved into the world of 3G t'internet. I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet but once I have ill let u know how it performs.
What about the curvy edges? I hear you ask. The wonderful world of curvy edges has arrived, and with all of 40mins of work integrating the Pure CSS implementation of rounded corners By Alessandro Fulciniti the menus on the right look a little more stylish
